We are deeply sorry to share with you the news that our founder and precious teacher, the Ven. Khenchen Appey Rinpoche, passed away on Dec. 28. This is a huge loss for many of us, and the Sakya tradition in particular.
He was a renowned teacher and hidden practitioner. His simple presence inspired countless, a true living example of a bodhisattva. He was the teacher of His Holiness Sakya Trizin, his two sons, HE Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, and many of today’s leading Sakya teachers. Founder of the Sakya College in India and the International Buddhist Academy in Nepal, he spend many of his last years practicing in seclusion in his house in Boudhanath.
He will be greatly missed. May his activities and blessings continue to benefit countless beings everywhere and all the time!!!

khenchen Appey rinpoche maybe is one of the most important Guru in Sakya Tradition in recent years.
His compassion is unlimited, although i’ve never met Rinpoche, but i could feel the warmth of his compassion.
